These days, they're really any kind of wedding dress that's non traditional.

And although traditional modest wedding gowns are great, they're not for everyone.

I thought about wearing my grandmother's wedding dress at my own wedding.

It would have been sentimental to both her and me....but there was just one tiny problem.....

It had 1940 written all over it. And I'm sure it was a real showstopper back in 'the day', but I'd rather keep it as an heirloom instead of wearing it down the aisle.

My mother's dress was gorgeous too, but it just didn't suit my personality or my style.

Today there are a lot of beautiful traditional gowns complete with train and petticoat which can remind us of our mothers' or grandmothers' dresses.

Your wedding dress should say something about your personality. And if you are a modern girl, then by all means, your wedding dress should be modern as well.
