Destination wedding dresses are ideal for the bride who wants a little change of scenery for her big event.

And, if you're like me, then your favorite vacation destination would be on a beach watching the waves all day long while sipping your favorite drink. Aaaaaah.....I just smile thinking about it.

4. In addition, the 'vacation like' laid back ambiance of the whole affair is such a wonderful and unique idea because it is much different from a formal church wedding.

Now let's look at the other side of the coin too.

Cons:
1. No matter how many times you may have spent vacationing at your chosen destination for your your wedding, it is still foreign ground and unknown territory. Getting married at such a place is an entirely different ball game and may cause a little stress.

2. The weather conditions can be a bit tricky. And choosing the perfect destination wedding dresses, depends a lot on the weather conditions of where you are getting married. For example, if you're getting married in the Bahamas, you'll need to choose destination wedding dresses that have breathable fabric and are fuss free. The hot and humid weather may be great for your wedding, but not a full flare wedding gown with long train and heavy embellishments.

3. Another downside to keep in mind is that not every guest you invite will be able to attend. Because your wedding will be at a vacation destination, not everyone will be able to afford to travel or get the time off from work.

Keeping all of these pros and cons in mind, you must still remember that one of the greatest advantages of having a destination wedding is that you can really set whatever mood you want.

While a regular church wedding can be formal or informal, a destination wedding can be formal, informal, medieval, fantasy, beach, bohemian or elegant chic or really anything in between.

You can even be a bit adventurous as well. You could consider putting on a bathing suit to exchange vows underwater. Or maybe a medieval gown for a wedding in an old English castle, a princess or Cinderella dress for your wedding at Disney World or a beach casual gown for your Caribbean beach wedding.

For a colder climate, such as your favorite ski resort, great destination wedding dresses ideas would be a winter gown detailed with long sleeves and faux fur trim.

You literally have thousands fo destinations to choose from which means your choices of destination wedding dresses are endless as well.

And destination weddings can be a beautiful start to a lifetime fo joy with your future mate. If planned properly, they can even be stress-free, or close to it!

With the advantages that destination weddings offer, it's little wonder they have become such a hot trend in weddings today!
