Bridal Bras
Choose the Right Bra for Your Wedding Day
Bridal bras come in many shapes and sizes. You can choose strapless, adhesive, balconette, bustier, demi and push up bras to name a few.
Choosing the right bra to wear under your wedding gown is essential to having the best look while feeling comfortable.
Try it on with your gown.
The most important thing you can do is try bridal bras on with your gown to make sure it fits right, feels comfortable and looks good.
Choose the right size.
Just as the sizing for wedding gowns is not the same as sizing for regular clothes, the same is true for bridal bras. If you normally wear a 36C size bra,
for example,
you may fit better with a size up or down depending on your wedding dress style and the style of the bra.
Consider the comfort.
Many bras are made with lots of lace and embroidery. While this look is sexy and feminine, it may cause a lot of itchy discomfort that you just don't need on your
wedding day. Consider going with a simple satin or cotton bra, which may not be as sexy and exciting but a small price to pay for comfort.
Consider the style of your gown.
The neckline, bodice and back of your dress all play an important part when choosing your bridal bra style. Make sure your neckline and straps completely
conceal your bra.
Consider the fabric of your gown.
If your gown is satin or any type of smooth and silky fabric, choose a satin or smooth fabric for your bra. Embroidery or lacey bras are sexy and cute, but
under a satin gown will only appear bumpy and weird.
Is your gown Strapless or have spaghetti straps?
If you'll be wearing a strapless gown or gown with spaghetti straps you could wear either a strapless bra, a long line strapless bra or a bustier or a
bridal corset
would be a good choice too.
- The strapless bra simply covers the breast area with a band containing closures directly around the back.
- The long line strapless bra begins at the bust line and ends at the waist. The closures consist of multiple hook and eye closures along the back.
-
The bustier is similar to the long line strapless, but with the added advantage of pushing the breasts upwards for more cleavage.
